Wise as a Serpent, Gentle as a Dove
1Paul looked straight at the Sanhedrin and said, "My brothers, I have fulfilled my duty to God in all good conscience to this day." 2At this the high priest Ananias ordered those standing near Paul to strike him on the mouth. 3Then Paul said to him, "God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! You sit there to judge me according to the law, yet you yourself violate the law by commanding that I be struck!"
4Those who were standing near Paul said, "You dare to insult God's high priest?"
5Paul replied, "Brothers, I did not realize that he was the high priest; for it is written: 'Do not speak evil about the ruler of your people.'[a]"
6Then Paul, knowing that some of them were Sadducees and the others Pharisees, called out in the Sanhedrin, "My brothers, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee. I stand on trial because of my hope in the resurrection of the dead."7When he said this, a dispute broke out between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the assembly was divided.8(The Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, and that there are neither angels nor spirits, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all.)
Paul is quite clever here...creating a stir for the purpose of confusing them and getting them to bicker amongst themselves??? All while maintaining a humble posture. I have much to learn from our brother Paul...back to the book, I want to see how the story ends...I'm just guessing here, but I think the saints persevere and God wins. Sorry if I spoiled if for you. :)

Thank you for your excellent point of view, l feel that the Holy Spirit has been continually giving me this scripture for the past few days.
My son seems entrapped by an ex-lesbian, with 2 daughters conceived by artificial insemination , different fathers. The daughters aged 9 an 15 are liars and thieves and totally undisciplined. Mother has dappled in witchcraft, written a novel that is witchcraft and occult from beginning to end.
She says she has come back to serving the LORD but having her and her daughters live in our home for almost 7 weeks, [childrens school holidays for 3 weeks as well], when her previous lessors gave her 24 hours to get out, [the reason why and hubby ended up having them move in with us]. l and my husband have witnessed one thing after the other, including emotional and psychological abuse of the older daughter, which mommy doesn't really want, horrible spoiling of younger daughter who mommy says is ''so honest'', yet we caught this children red handed in lie after lie.
Within 2 weeks of meeting this woman , my 37 yr old son, [who recently come back from the UK, destitute after going through a very painful and bitter divorce,and lost everything including his business just on 2 years ago] is now engaged to be married to her, who went through her divorce from a lesbian ''marriage'' this year. She says her lesbian 'husband' cleaned her out financially
[ she was apparently having an affair with another man] And my son who arrived by home in April has now had landed [ within 6 weeks] an executive position in a leading international company earning more than half a million Rand a year>
My husband and l have been witness to so many lies and deception in the past 6 weeks while my son has moved to Harrismith to start work as operations and fleet manager of the new depot. Last weekend she told ALL of us that she was going on a Christian camp locally with the girls, Told her boss she was in Johannesburg [600+ MILES FROM US] and it turned out she is with my son and now has moved in with him, awolling from her place of employment, which happens to be a the same hospital where my husband works [but 2 totally different divisions], She is in debt to over a R100.000,00.
Every part of my being and my spirit and that of my close friends ''know'' that something is very wrong wrong and l have literally been crying before the LORD to show me what is going on, All my close friends are born again Holy Spirit filled sons and daughters of GOD.
Being so close to this situation l am literally overwhelmed and apart from praying l just feel that l need an outsiders perspective and l do not want to alienate my son.
